Year of establishment: Crop Protection Research Centre (CPRC) was established in 1998.
Vision: To protect the cultivable crops from the devastating insect pests by using Bio-intensive Integrated Pest Management (BIPM), where natural enemies, plant-based insecticides, inter and trap crops, NPV (both S and H) and fungal pathogens play an important role

Distribution and diversity of pests and natural enemies (reduviids, coccinellids, dragon and damsel flies, and spiders) of southern parts of Tamil Nadu, India
Bioecology of reduviids using natural, factitious, and oligidic diets
Stage preference and host preference of reduviids against economically important pests
Laboratory and field (cotton and groundnut) evaluation of reduviids either alone or along with other BIPM components
Formulated oligidic diets for reduviid predators rearing
Venomous saliva of Rhynocoris marginatus and Rhynocoris fuscipes chemically, biologically and immunologically characterized
Distribution, diversity and genetic similarity of Metarhizium anisopliae in Tamil Nadu, India
Indigenous isolates of Beauveria bassiana, Verticillium lecanii, Paecilomyces fumosoroseus and Metarhizium anisopliae were tested against chosen groundnut and cotton pests.
Inter-coping of sunflower, castor, soybean and maize (6 : 1 ratio) with groundnut enhanced the yield.
Asteraceae (5 plants); Asclepladaceae (1 plant); Fabaceae (1 plant); Maliaceae (1 plant); Laminaceae (1 plant); Rutaceae (3 plants); Verbenaceae (1 plant); Zingiberaceae (1 plant) Pedaliaceae (1 plant ) and Pteridiaceae (3 plants) were used for the management of selected cotton and groundnut pests.
Fabaceae (1 plant); Laminaceae (3 plants); Liliaceae (1 plant) and Verbenaceae (3 plants), Asteraceae (1 plant); Cucurbitaceae (1 plant) i Fabaceae (1 plant) were evaluated against post-harvesting pests like Corcyra cephalonica stainton and Tribolium castaneum.

Journal of Biopesticides is a peer-reviewed, half yearly journal issued in June and December, devoted to publication of research work on various aspects of plant protection with biological pesticides. Core aim, objective and purpose of the Journal is interdisciplinary in approach bringing together scientists and researchers in the field of ecofreindly crop protection encompassing pests, diseases, weeds, rodents and molluscan pests management thus paving the way for exchange of information and interaction between industry, researchers, academia, students, extension workers and farmers.
