The Master of Social Work Programme (MSW) was established by Rev.Dr.G.Lawrence Amalraj S.J., in the academic year 2009-2010 with a view to alleviate socio-economic problems of people in a professional manner, with a special reference to the southern districts of TamilNadu. It has two specializations namely, Community Development (CD) and Human Resource Management (HRM). This includes the issues related to the welfare of the disadvantaged sections and human rights.
SCOPE
Social Work Profession promotes social change, problem-solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance human well-being. Utilizing theories of human behavior and social systems, Social Work intervenes at the points where people interact with their environments. Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to Social Work.
