The SXC–Student Research Project Scheme (SXC–SRPS) is an initiative by St. Xavier’s College to foster a culture of research among postgraduate students. This scheme aims to encourage young minds to engage in innovative, problem-solving research under the guidance of faculty mentors.
- To promote research aptitude and scientific thinking among students.
- To support student-led mini research projects aligned with societal, academic, or scientific relevance.
- To build foundational skills in research methodology, data analysis, and report writing.
- Open to all final year PG students of St. Xavier’s College.
- Projects must be undertaken under the supervision of a faculty mentor from the respective department.
- Selected projects will receive financial assistance under the scheme.
- Students must submit proposals in the prescribed format, including a clear research question, objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes.
- A maximum of ₹5,000 may be sanctioned per project, depending on the nature and scope.
- At the end of the project, students are required to submit a project report, utilization certificate, and present their findings.
The SXC–SRPS provides a platform for students to experience real-world research, preparing them for higher studies and professional research careers. It also contributes to the research output and academic environment of the institution.
The project amount will be utilized exclusively to provide financial assistance for meritorious student research projects, helping to create a research-oriented academic environment within the institution.
